What We Do:

GSSAC Supports Community Engagement

COALITION—a pact among individuals or groups, in which they work in collaborative action, joining forces together for a common cause.

The Greater Spokane Substance Abuse Council (GSSAC) recognizes the importance of a community-wide effort to reduce substance abuse and violence.  In the past we have been proud and honored to have convened a coalition of community agencies, policy makers, and citizens who work together to create a positive community environment that supports healthy choices for youth for many years in our region. As resources have been cut and programming reduced, GSSAC has shifted our efforts to supporting community coalitions, organizing organizations, and local, state, and federal efforts to engage in prevention, treatment, and recovery support.   These efforts continue to bring positive changes that support healthy youth and, in turn adults, while strengthening our entire community.

Please support local prevention efforts--they need you!

If you'd like to be involved in making a difference in our community, we encourage you to contact your local coalition/school/community center, neighborhood clean-up, and become engaged in helping make your neighborhood safe for everyone.
