Good News:

Random Acts of Prevention

Substance Abuse Prevention has become a scientific field based on sound research and principles. Through this process, the field has learned that it takes more than just education to keep youth, and in turn, communities drug and violence free. Successful prevention efforts require the commitment of the entire community. With this in mind, GSSAC created the "Random Acts of Prevention" award to recognize and honor groups that contribute to the prevention effort simply by doing what they believe to be right.

This month GSSAC is recognizing and thanking:

Spokane Police Activities League (PAL) for engaging youth in positive athletic and academic programs through fun summer activities.

WSU Food $ense Program for their continued efforts in the community to raise healthy youth through nutritional education.

Spokane Southeast Lions Club for their many contributions to the

Spokane Police Activities League (PAL) helping to make the summer program a success for so many youth in our community.

Spokane School District 81 for their support of the Spokane Police Activities League (PAL) by providing STEM classes for youth in the community during summer programs.

Thank you for working together to create a healthy and safe environment in our community!
